I am an 18 year old singer songwriter guitarist. I also play the piano. My artistic influences are Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys), Kurt Cobain (Nirvana), Daniel Johnston, Neil Young, and The Cardiacs. My favourite composer is Tchaikovsky although Shostakovich might take that spot soon.

I’ve been writing/playing music since I first heard the Ramones Self-Titled album at 13. Before that point I found musicianship intimidating and thought I had to be good in order to create anything, the Ramones taught otherwise. Since then I’ve learned how to sing, play guitar and play piano. Although what I’ve worked at the hardest and what I consider my strong suit would be writing. Since I was a child I could hear compositions in my head and over the past 4-5 years I’ve been working as hard as possible to learn how to convey them.

In terms of my guitar playing style I’ve taken a lot of inspiration from Nick Drake, Hozier, Lindsay Buckingham, and Mark Knopfler. I use fingerpicking techniques and also incorporate rasgueado style flamenco strumming to attempt to fill out my sound as a solo artist.
